Recently, attorneys at Lipsitz, Ponterio & Comerford uncovered internal correspondence from 1960 revealing that a prominent local seller and installer of asbestos knew that asbestos dust caused death in exposed workers yet failed to warn its own employees and customers.

Last week, this local contractor agreed to pay a half million dollars to the family of a former Niagara County factory worker who died from mesothelioma.

Previously, the largest settlement this contractor ever paid to any injured worker was $65,000.
