After almost two years of litigation, Lipsitz & Ponterio has obtained a $4.2 million dollar settlement on the behalf of a 68-year-old deceased Navy Machinist Mate.

From 1958 to 1978, our client was stationed on Navy nuclear submarines as a machinist mate. During this period, he worked on numerous pieces of equipment which were insulated with exterior insulation filled with asbestos. The equipment included turbines, valves, pumps and gaskets.

In early 2007, our client was diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma. Shorty after his diagnosis, our client became very ill and passed away almost one year after his mesothelioma diagnosis. Our client was married for 45 years, and left behind a widow, three children and grand-children.
