Michael A. Ponterio, is a founding partner of Lipsitz, Ponterio & Comerford. Mr. Ponterio began his legal career in 1985 representing workers suffering from occupational-related diseases, such as asbestosis and mesothelioma. Mr. Ponterio obtained the first personal injury jury verdict in the State of New York for an asbestos victim (Racich v. Celotex Corporation). Mr. Ponterio and his partner, John Ned Lipsitz, also received the first personal injury jury verdict in Buffalo, New York, on behalf of an asbestos victim (Wolf v. Celotex Corporation).

“From 1985 through 1995, I had the privilege of trying several asbestos cases in the New York City area on behalf of victims suffering from mesothelioma, which occurred during their wartime service at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.”

In 1995, Mr. Ponterio, together with his friend John Lipsitz, formed Lipsitz, Ponterio & Comerford, LLC. “It has been my privilege, for over twenty-five years, to represent families in the Western New York area whose loved ones regrettably suffered debilitating and, in some cases, fatal asbestos diseases.”

Mike and his wife Mary have four daughters, and in his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his family.
