Two Sisters Awarded Settlement in Lead Disease Lawsuit

A Buffalo landlord’s insurance company agreed to pay a total of $725,000 to two sisters who were lead-poisoned in the landlord’s house on Gibson Street in Buffalo some years ago when they were toddlers. Now teenagers, these sisters both suffered neuro-cognitive injuries that result in learning disabilities and behavioral problems that negatively impact their academic abilities. The settlement funds have been structured to provide the girls with future lump sum payments for vocational training and education to help them overcome their academic and functional disabilities due to lead poisoning.
