Niagara County Lead Poisoned Child Receives Settlement

A Niagara County landlord’s insurance company agreed to pay $275,000 to the guardian of a 15-year-old boy who was lead poisoned as a young baby in his mother’s Niagara Falls rental apartment. This boy has serious neuron-cognitive deficits and behavioral problems, had hospital treatment and attends a special school. Most of this child’s settlement funds have been placed into a Supplemental Needs Trust Account that will provide him with future lump sum payments for vocational training or education, and some monies were made immediately available for his current academic and extra-curricular needs.
