Mathew Morton joined Lipsitz & Ponterio, LLC in 2009.

Mr. Morton is an attorney whose work focuses on the representation of individuals who have suffered injuries as a result of exposure to asbestos and other toxic substances. His practice is focused in asbestos and mesothelioma litigation, FELA cases, personal injury, and automobile accidents.

In January 2010, Matt Morton and John Comerford were counsel for a trial in Buffalo, New York, and obtained a $900,000 settlement award on behalf of our client, a local electrician, for injuries resulting from exposure to asbestos on the job.

In July 2010, Mr. Morton was involved in the preparation and settlement of a case for $325,000, in which the plaintiff, age 76, was involved in a motor vehicle accident with a tractor trailer. She experienced five days of pain and suffering before slipping into a coma and subsequently passing away. Under NYS law, an injured party can only recover for conscious pain and suffering.

In August 2010, Mr. Morton was involved in the extensive preparation and conduct of a mesothelioma settlement exceeding $1.6 million for our client who was a bricklayer at Bethlehem Steel.

In May 2011, Mr. Morton was involved in the preparation and work-up of a mesothelioma case that settled for $1.9 million for our client, who was a construction laborer and mechanic in Upstate New York.
